If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
2. What the Site is
The Site publishes editorial reviews and commentary about science fiction books. Scores, rankings and opinions are ours alone. Prices, page counts, release dates and formats are reported in good faith at the time of writing and may change without notice; always confirm with the retailer or publisher before purchasing. Nothing on the Site is professional, legal or financial advice.
3. Your obligations
When using the Site you agree that you will:
- use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms;
- not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, its servers or any connected system;
- not scrape, crawl or systematically extract content from the Site by automated means without our prior written consent, other than by search engines for indexing;
- not submit content through our contact form that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, infringing, or that contains malware or unsolicited commercial material;
- not impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation.
4. Intellectual property
All reviews, text, graphics, logos, the pickpantrystorypuls name and mark, and the selection and arrangement of the Site are owned by or licensed to Pulsar Pantry Media Ltd and are protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws of the United Kingdom and other jurisdictions. You may read, print and share links to our content for personal, non-commercial use. You may quote brief excerpts with clear attribution and a link to the source page. Any other reproduction, republication or commercial use requires our written permission. Book titles, cover art and author names referenced on the Site remain the property of their respective rights holders and are used for the purposes of criticism and review.
5. Third-party links and affiliate disclosure
The Site may link to publishers, retailers and other external websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Where a link is an affiliate link, we will say so on the page; at the date of these Terms, the Site carries no affiliate links and receives no commission from purchases.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.
7. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we shall not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data or loss of goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site, and our total aggregate liability to you in any twelve-month period shall not exceed one hundred pounds sterling (£100).
8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or if we discontinue the Site. Sections 4, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11 survive termination.
10. Governing law
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain the benefit of any mandatory protections under the law of your country of residence.
11. Disputes
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at [email protected]; we aim to resolve disputes informally within 30 days. If we cannot, the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, save that consumers in the EU may bring proceedings in their home courts, and may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform where available.
12. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site.
